Tim Grein founded Ridge Run Capital, LLC in 2016 to find opportunities to help family-owned businesses transition to new ownership and fully realize growth opportunities. 

After founding, Tim partnered with Cornerstone Capital to acquire Walbar Engine Components, where he served as the President & CEO for four years, navigating the company through a dramatic turnaround.

Prior to founding Ridge Run Capital, Tim was a Principal at Platte River Equity where he spent 10 years fully engaged in all aspects of the investment and portfolio management processes.  He has extensive experience in the aerospace, general manufacturing, specialty metal forging and industrial services industries..

Prior to Platte River Equity, Tim developed extensive business development and operations experience working for Avery Weigh-Tronix and GE Power Systems. During this period, Tim received comprehensive training in operations, finance and Six Sigma while working as a Black Belt within GE's strategic sourcing organization.

Earlier in his career, Tim was an officer in the U.S. Army, where he had assignments in Germany, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Virginia. He left the service in 1999 with the rank of Captain.

Tim holds an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and a B.S. in Engineering from the United States Military Academy, West Point.
